The Macon-Bibb County landfill is working to clean up after failing an inspection by the Environmental Protection Division.
The EPA recently cited the Macon-Bibb landfill for 12 violations, including adequately covering garbage with a layer of dirt, leaving exposed waste in different areas of the hill.
Solid Waste Department Director Kevin Barkley said they are now going down the list to right all of the wrongs.
For one, Barkley said they are now covering all of the garbage daily with the right amount of dirt.
