Convenience Center

Macon-Bibb County

Macon-Bibb County has opened two of its five planned Convenience Centers to better serve the needs of the community. The first two are located on 11th Street near the entrance of the closed landfill and at 4214 Fulton Mill Road behind the Animal Welfare Center.

The 11th Street location is open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the Fulton Mill Road location is open Thursday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (Operating hours are subject to change, depending on weather, holidays, and other extenuating circumstances.) You’ll need to have a valid ID showing you are a Bibb County resident.

“This is another step in keeping our community clean and giving everyone the opportunity to dispose of trash properly,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “Providing an additional center to dispose of debris will not only provide convenience for people but will hopefully cut down on illegal dumping.”

People can bring, free of charge:

  • Bagged household garbage
  • Furniture
  • Tires
  • Yard debris
  • Building material

No insulation or roofing material will be accepted, and any building material must not have nails in it.

Additional information is listed in the flyers below. If you have any questions, contact the Solid Waste Department at (478) 803-0499.
